Soon, it became necessary to build an elevated viaduct to cross the canyon through which the Sfalass\u00e0 stream flows. This viaduct, designed by Eng. Silvano Zorzi and executed by Mosconi Srl, includes two extreme spans in reinforced concrete conformed to a thrust arch, as well as a central part in steel carpentry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2 Derrick cranes by Pellegrini were used to set up the deck of the latter (one for each of the ends of the concrete structures) characterized by 30 m boom and a capacity of 40 tons. Once a section of the deck was laid, the cranes were moved to its extremity to then provide for the laying of the next section. This viaduct, executed by Mosconi Srl, Consorzio Impregilo SpA\/Condotte d&#8217;acqua Spa, turned out to be 893 meters long and won for three times the CECM European Award, the highest European award for major works.<br><br>Work was completed at the end of 1972: acceptance tests consisted of placing about ninety trucks and several tons of sand to check static strength. The results were significantly better than expected.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full
